BY BY...no not 'BYE BYE' but BY: Christy and Angella

Hello, our names are Christy and Angella. We are doing an important project on Plate Tectonics, for science. Our blog includes, information on Pangea, Plate Tectonics, Convergent & Divergent Boundaries, the Ring of Fire, Mid-Ocean Ridges, the Layers of Earth, and California's major geological features. These will be explained and described in details from various sources and in paragraphs. We hope that you will enjoy the rest of your time scrolling down and reading/learning from our blog. :D Btw, we are not responsible if you get blinded for the wonderful colors below. Thank you!

With Love <3,
Angella & Christy

Plate Tectonics xD

If you read this you're going to find out the right answer for the poll below! So begin reading...NOW! First of all, Plate Tectonics form in three types of boundaries, there are the Transform, Divergent, and Convergent Boundaries. Each boundary is worked in different ways. For instance, the Transform Boundary has two plates slip past each other. The Divergent Boundary has the two plates move away from each other. The Convergent Boundary shows two plates moving towards each other. And finally, did you know that the movement of plates every year is 1 cm?
There is evidence that Plate Tectonics exist, because, according to the theory of plate tectonics, the earth's crust is broken up into at least a dozen of rigid plates that move independently of one another. These slabs rest upon a layer of heated pliable rock called the asthenosphere, which flows slowly like hot  tar. Geologists have not yet determined exactly how these two layers interact, but a popular theory is that the movement of the thick, molten material in the asthenosphere forces the upper plates to shift, sink, or rise.

PANGEA...the Land of the DINOZAURZ

"Pangea" definition from the Dictionary...
noun
Geology. the hypothetical landmass that existed when all continents were joined, from about 300 to 200 million years ago.

Also, there is evidence of Pangea that continental drift is in action, because certain plants and animals appear on different continents even though they're the same kind of species.

Rex needs to jump from land to land, the one who did this is Continental Drift!

Convergent and Divergent Boundaries

Even though we explained a little bit of these convergent and divergent boundaries we will explain it in a more detailed way. First we will tell you guys who are reading this what these boundaries are. They are boundaries that wok in separate ways with the plate tectonics. Now we will talk about what each boundary makes once it happens. When two plate tectonics move towards each other, the Convergent boundary takes action by this at least one of the denser ones have to go under while the other go on the top. This will make mountains, volcanoes, earthquakes, and erosion. Finally i will talk to you about what happens when divergent boundaries happen. When two plates move apart this is called divergent boundary since this happens this will make deep sea's and make the ocean bigger.

Mid-Ocean Ridge

Now, it is time to learn about the Mid-Ocean Ridges! This was one of the mountain ranges in the world! It is more than 84000 kilometers (52000 miles) in length extending through the North. This mountain range was formed underwater through the Earth's surface. The reason why, was because in the earth's core, hot magma exploded from underneath the Earth's surface and made cracks, and so the mountain range began forming...underwater. This range is very interesting because it was formed in a very diverse way then how others do. Though it might not be very tall in length, it is very wide, in width. As we have said before, it is more than 84,000 km or 52,000 mi if you measured its' length. The Mid-Ocean
Ridge creates new land for living creatures to live on.

The Ring Of Fire!

The ring of fire is located everywhere along the borders of the Pacific Plate and other places where there are many activities of plate tectonics. By these activities happening they make the land filled with earthquakes and volcanoes. These places are very fertile, but the place have many poisonous air with ashes and ashes.

Was our blog fun? :D
